About Crime Survivors for Safety and Justice

From CSSJ.org:

Our organization is committed to providing support, resources, and advocacy for crime survivors, as well as promoting policies that prioritize safety and justice in our communities.

Here are some of the key programs and resources we offer:

  • Community Engagement and Education: We help survivors connect with each other through our statewide and regional chapter structure, and we organize community events, workshops, and educational programs to raise awareness about victim services and public safety.
  • Member Support Program: We host monthly virtual healing spaces in both English and Spanish, interactive Wellness Wednesday activities, special spotlight events on victims services, and we offer access to free counseling and a discount program for goods and services.
  • Leadership and Empowerment: We offer opportunities for crime survivors to develop leadership skills, share their stories, and advocate for positive change in their communities.
  • Volunteer and Engagement Opportunities: We provide various volunteer opportunities, such as phone banking, participating in events, joining chapters, recruiting members, and contributing to our initiatives to actively engage with our organization and make a difference.
  • Advocacy and Policy Reform: We engage in advocacy efforts to promote policies that address the needs of crime survivors, increase access to victim compensation, and advocate for trauma recovery services. We help survivors share their stories and experiences to advocate for local, state, and federal policies to increase access to victim compensation and services.

Thank you for being a part of our community and for your commitment to our mission. If you have any questions or would like to get involved, please do not hesitate to reach out. We value your participation and look forward to working together toward our goals.
