Because YOU make the difference!
Tuesday, May 13th & Wednesday, May 14th, City Council Chambers
The Alliance for a Just Philadelphia is going on the record at the budget public testimony on May 13th and 14th! The Alliance, of which PNN is a full member, is demanding a People’s Budget that works for ALL Philadelphians.
We will reject the austerity measures being proposed in this budget and demand that instead we invest in safe healthy homes, worker protections, public spaces, mental health care, immigrant support programs, and schools.
If you would like to take part in the public testimony (scheduled for 10am-12:30pm and 1:30-4pm on May 13th and 14th in Council Chambers, Rm 400) then let us know by clicking the link below.
How to Register to Testify: Budget hearings will be held in person at Philadelphia City Council Chambers, Room 400 (Fourth Floor), City Hall. Speakers interested in making public testimony should call 215-686-3407 or email [email protected] by 3 p.m. on the day prior to the public testimony session at which they wish to speak and submit the following information:
WHEN: 9:30am on Tuesday May 13
WHERE: City Hall, Northeast Corner
WHO: You!!!
We believe that meeting the needs of all Philadelphians is possible with the wealth in this city. We need City Council & Mayor Parker to pass a People’s Budget that supports and protects all of us!
The proposed budget is a status quo budget that does not meet the moment. With massive federal funding cuts looming and attacks on our communities from Trump, our City leaders need to stand up and fight to protect Philadelphians and put forth a bold budget.
It’s going to take ALL OF US to keep the pressure on City Council until a budget is passed. If they fold under the pressure of billionaire bullies, everyday working people will continue to be left behind. There’s a lot on the line –funding for safe healthy homes, worker protections, public spaces, mental health care, immigrant support programs, schools, and more.
We are asking City Council: STAND UP AND BE ABOUT US!
