Support Renewables, Green Jobs at City Budget Hearing (Here 4 Climate Justice)

April 2 @ 10:00 am - 12:30 pm

Join Here 4 Climate Justice this Wednesday, April 2, from 10:00 AM to 12:30 PM at City Hall (Room 400) as we show our support for the Philadelphia Energy Authority’s $10 million budget request.

PEA is asking City Council and Mayor Parker to allocate:

$5 million to continue the Built to Last home repair and upgrade program.

$1.5 million for workforce development programs like Bright Solar Futures and Green Retrofit Immersive Training.

Funding for citywide energy efficiency projects like the Philly Streetlight Improvement ProjectSolarize Philly, and more.

Mayor Parker hasn’t announced how much her FY 2026 budget proposal includes for PEA. Last year, the mayor proposed giving much less to PEA than was needed. We organized and pushed for City Council to add $5 million for Built to Last. Let’s show up and make it clear we want PEA fully funded this year!

📢 Your presence matters! While there won’t be public comment, just being there shows powerful community support. We’ll have signs and a banner ready so just bring yourself and your energy!
