What: City Council Housing Committee hearing on June 3rd to vote on the Safe Healthy Homes Act, 3 bills that strengthen renters rights by giving the City the power to proactively inspect rental units, hold bad landlords accountable when they violate the code, and ensure protections for renters against retaliation.
Why: We have a housing safety crisis in our city. Hundreds of renters are going without heat in winter or living with mold, leaks, infestations, lead, fire hazards, or other dangerous conditions that are affecting our health and even taking lives. We need City Council to PROTECT renters!
